This is no doubt the most difficult achievement in the game. You'll probably need equipment that increases Attack by absurd amounts (the Magenta Teddy Bear comes to mind), a weapon with a high offensive stat and a good special like Maximum Strike, all possible Attack-increasing buffs, and most of your stat points invested into an offensive stat of your choice. For the longest time, I've been pondering about how I could get this achievement. I've devised a lot of theories over time, but have yet to test much.
A certain discovery, or rediscovery, I guess, led me to a new possibility. One that doesn't involve overbuffing your Attack.
Behold, the 7,500 damage achievement was unlocked...on my Paladin. Indeed, it is the same Paladin I have already posted about in the Showcase category. The Paladin who has all points into HP and none into any offensive stats whatsoever.
"So Kiyo, how did your Paladin get this achievement? None of your other, more offense oriented characters have ever come close to dealing 7,500 damage in one hit!" Unfortunately, no matter how much I dug into my memory, I have concluded that even my younger self had no idea how he got the achievement. However, it led me to devise a new theory which I have yet to test due to my time being taken up by other games.
I believe that my Paladin got this achievement through damage reflection. For a refresher, any equipment with damage reflection in Dego will reflect damage taken back to the attacker by a whopping tenfold. I take 100 damage and whatever just hit me would take 1,000 in return. With that in mind, is there anything in Dego that can deal over 750 damage? In most circumstances, no. That's where Defense reducing equipment come into play. I mentioned the Magenta Teddy Bear a couple times before. This teddy increases Attack by 25% and decreases Defense by 25%, and it goes into the Extra slot, so you can equip two of them to take 50% more damage. Now, that means we'll need a weapon with damage reflect, like the Ionic Bow or the Ionic Staff (if there's a Melee variant, I haven't found it yet). Finally, we'll need to find something that can hit very, very hard with just one attack. I will let you know later if this theory even works.
Feel free to leave a reply below on how you got this achievement. I'd certainly like to know how others got it.

Hello again everyone! Today, I want to showcase one of my DPS characters.
These are his stats. Quite a stark contrast when you compare him to my Paladin. His very high Range stat lets him put out large damage numbers from a safer distance and he has just enough HP to survive a fatal mistake or two. If you're building your own Thief and you feel that you don't get hit too often, you can try opting for even less HP and more of your preferred offensive stat since their Level 4 skill makes you almost invincible.
This was what he has equipped when I started up Dego again after many years, so truth be told, I don't remember if this was his optimal set of equipment. Nevertheless, let's go over them anyway.
Diska of Liberator - +175 Range, Special: Blood Shield, gives random buffs every time a bar of SP is filled.
Abomination's Heart - +1.5% HP Regeneration, +7% Attack and Defense.
SP Regeneration Lv. 3 - +2% SP Regeneration.
The weapon equipped doesn't have the ideal special for Ryan, since he can't use it like Ryo can, but maybe it can help in a pinch. The random buffs, however, seem to be what makes this weapon a good choice for him. The buffs this weapon grants include an attack buff, a defense buff, both the attack and defense buff at once, a short Attack Speed buff, and a very short invincibility buff. Those last two buffs might sound familiar. That's right, they're weaker versions of the Thief's skills! Given that all of the Thief's skills grant valuable buffs, this weapon only further encourages one to keep using skills so that a whole bunch of buffs stay active. Top it off with some SP Regeneration equipment so buffs happen even more often. Finally, the Abomination's Heart is a good all-rounder type of equipment, granting a lot of useful stats at smaller amounts.
I went through his inventory and found some other equipment I could see him using, so I'll list those too.
Magenta Teddy Bear - +25% Attack, -25% Defense. Good for a high-risk, high-reward gameplay. The risk factor can be reduced in several ways, of course.
Legend's Shield - +200 HP, +5% Attack. Another nice all-rounder that's also easy to find.
The Centaur - +170 Range, Special: Final Shot, summoned allies last 25% longer. Final Shot is a very strong special that lets you see very big damage numbers, which is great for trying to get that 7,500 damage achievement.
Iron Ice Sniper - +175 Range, Special: Condition. The special will always freeze monsters. This weapon might be more ideal for support characters, but who says you can't freeze-lock while dealing damage at the same time?
Overdrive - +5% SP Regeneration, -400 HP. I personally would never use this because that would bring Ryan down to 350 HP, which I could offset by using HP equipment, but that alone is too risky even for me and there are other stats I value than just SP Regeneration. It goes pretty well with the Diska of Liberator though.
That's all for this showcase!
Hello everyone! I'd like to show you one of my most used characters. He's a Paladin built for full support. Hopefully, this will give you some ideas for building your very own support character!
Here are his stats. As you may have already noticed, I put all of his stat points into HP. It allows him to tank for his party if needed, but it's also important for being able to use certain equipment without too much drawbacks.
This is his most commonly used equipment. Let's go over what they do.
Great Morning Star - +175 Melee, Special: Blood Shield, +5% Defense
High Speed Regeneration - +10% HP Regeneration, -400 HP
SP Regeneration Lv. 3 - +2% SP Regeneration
The Great Morning Star allows Ryo to create an infinite number of shields as long as he has enough HP. Combined with the Paladin's Level 1 skill, it's very easy to create lots of shields on demand. Of course, a good chunk of HP is used up every time he uses the Blood Shield special, so the High Speed Regeneration comes in to heal it all right back. Its -400 HP drawback is mitigated because as mentioned earlier, all of his stats are in HP. Finally, the SP Regeneration Lv. 3 provides a huge boost to SP Regeneration so that Ryo can use his Paladin skills more often.
Of course, it was no easy task to get him to become the powerful support character he is now. Investing all points into HP means you will deal very little damage, so if you want to level up a Paladin like this one from scratch, it's highly recommended to stick to weapons that can inflict status conditions to support your actual damage dealing characters. Such weapons include the Blue Flag, a useful weapon for freezing monsters that you can get very early in the game. Or if you want to kill things quicker, a weapon that can burn or poison like the Purple Flag are good choices.
If you're feeling experimental or you just don't have that High Speed Regeneration yet, here are some alternative equipment you can try using:
Regeneration Lv. 1-5 - Any HP Regeneration equipment that goes in the extra slots like the Regeneration series should suffice until you get the High Speed Regeneration.
Blue Flag - +30 Magic, Special: Condition. A weapon I personally view as the support character's starter weapon. You can get it very early in the game. Spamming its special lets you freeze monsters forever.
Defender - +10% Defense, -10% Attack. Since a pure HP build can't deal much damage anyway, you can use defense-boosting gear like this one to take more hits.
Any weapon with the Blood Shield special - Although the Great Morning Star is the best weapon with this special because of the extra Defense bonus, there are a few other weapons that also have this special. If you find one, you're already halfway there to copying this character's build.
Any weapon with the SP Steal special - If you feel like you're having trouble recovering SP, try using a weapon with SP Steal. You'll recover SP much quicker, allowing you to use skills much more often.
Ionic Bow/Staff - +170 Range/Magic, Special: Triple Shot/Circle Spell, reflects damage taken. The Ionic weapons have an interesting passive effect. They'll reflect 10 times the damage taken back to the attacker. With enough healing, you'll be able to deal damage just by being a meat shield.
Overdrive - +5% SP Regeneration, -400 HP. You guessed it. This is the SP version of the High Speed Regeneration. With this equipped, you'll regenerate SP extremely fast.
That's all for this showcase!
